Where is Bildstak data hosted and what about data residency?
Where your data is hosted depends on the deployment model you choose. Bildstak runs in Bildstak-managed cloud, in your own VPC, on-premise in your data centre, or fully air-gapped — so you can match data residency to your contractual and regulatory requirements.
There is no single answer to "where is my data hosted" because Bildstak gives you the choice:
- Bildstak-managed cloud — hosted infrastructure managed by Bildstak. Best for teams who want to get started quickly without infrastructure overhead. Discuss region availability during the scoping call.
- Customer VPC — the platform runs inside your own AWS, Azure or GCP account. Data stays within your cloud boundary, in the region you choose, under your IAM controls.
- On-premise — deployed on hardware you own or lease, inside your data centre or private cloud. Full data residency control, no third-party hosting involved.
- Air-gapped — the same product, isolated from all external networks, for the most sensitive environments.
For organisations with specific data-residency requirements — in-country hosting, government cloud, private cloud in a regulated jurisdiction — the VPC or on-premise models are the natural fit, and we can discuss the architecture in detail.
Bildstak also federates data in place where possible, meaning source-system data is queried live rather than copied. That minimises the data footprint and means the question of residency is partly answered by your existing source systems.
